As a seasoned Antarctic traveller, Marta Velazquez realized that there was a need for a book different from those she had come across during her trips. A book both helful and informative, easy to use and carry around during the Antarctic expedition.
Antarctica Logbook – The Ultimate Journey combines the best of a journal, a travel guide and a field guide in a practical format – 15cm x 21 cm (5.9 in x 8.27 in) – with twin loop wire binding.
Marta Velazquez was born in BuenosAires, Argentina, where she graduated University as a Tourist Guide. She has lived and guided in Patagonia since the early 1980s. She later moved to Ushuaia to join the first Argentinean cruises to Antarctica. Marta has visited the whit econtinent over 20 times, as cruise staff, tour leader and lecturer. She also treasures two unique Antarctic experiences: getting married at Esperanza Station, on Hope Bay in1988 and being shipwrecked near Anvers Island in 1989. When not cruising the Southern Ocean, she is a passionate naturalist and a free-lance guide around Tierra del Fuego. Marta has alsohad the opportunity of being the first and only Argentinean tourist guide in Malvinas Islands.
Cecilia Aranda was born and raised in Ushuaia. After finishing secondary school, she left for Buenos Aires to study Graphic Design at University of Buenos Aires, where she graduated in 2005. At present she is studying Editorial Management at University of Buenos Aires and is exclusively dedicated to editorial design.
Victoria Boano was born and lives in Buenos Aires province, but spent her childhood in Ushuaia. Both a student of Spanish Language at University of Buenos Aires and English Translation atInstituto de Lenguas Vivas Juan R. Fernández, Victoria divides her time between studying, writing and music.
Adriana Vilariño was born in Buenos Aires and lived in the U.S.A. In 1979 she settled down in Ushuaia with her husband, where she raised her children. A Teacher of English since 1996,she is also a free-lance translator.
